چکیده
Abstract Background Cardiac erosion after percutaneous atrial septal defect (ASD) closure is a rare complication that requires immediate life-saving emergency surgery. In this report, we present our successful strategy for cardiac arrest due to tamponade caused by 6 years the of an ASD. Case presentation The patient was 50-year-old man who received treatment using Amplatzer occluder (St. Jude Medical, St. Paul, MN, USA) ostium secundum (size: 29.5 × 27.0 mm) at another institution when he 44 old. Conclusions This case report presents bailout surgical patients are hemodynamically unstable with risks coagulopathy and multiple organ failure. shows surgeons need be aware ASD-closure complications should consider risk

Cryoballoon pulmonary vein isolation prior to percutaneous atrial septal defect closure: a case report.
We report the case of a 61-year-old female who was admitted to our department with progressive dyspnea and palpitation. Transthoracic echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography showed a small atrial septal defect (ASD, 8x7 mm). Paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) was detected in Holter monitoring. As repair of ASD does not significantly reduce the risk of arrhythmias, cryoablation of...
متن کاملA failed case of percutaneous septal closure of fenestrated atrial septal defect.
A patient presenting with a history of palpitation and exertional dyspnea was initially diagnosed with two separate secundum-type atrial septal defects by transesophageal echocardiography. Subsequent transesophageal echocardiography, after failure of closure with two separate closure devices, showed another defect and an ongoing left to right shunt. During surgery, more defects were observed. T...
متن کاملCryptogenic stroke after percutaneous closure of an atrial septal defect.
We present the case of a patient who underwent a percutaneous secundum atrial septal defect (ASD II) closure with an undersized septal occluder device. One week and one month later she experienced two transient ischemic attacks. Three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) revealed a residual patent foramen ovale (PFO) with a positive Valsalva bubble test. She underwent a second pro...
متن کامل[Massive intravascular haemolysis after percutaneous atrial septal defect closure].
We present a case of a 55 year-old female, who survived a complication of percutaneous closure of atrial septal defect never described before. Within the first day after treatment the device has dislodged and got stuck in the mitral valve apparatus. This has caused mitral insufficiency and massive haemolysis which resolved after interventional removal of the device.
متن کاملSplanchnectopia Accompanied With Atrial Septal Defect: A Case Report
Splanchnetopia accompanied with atrial septal defect is a rare congenital malformation clinically. Recent studies show that the patients are susceptible to lung disease. We present a case of a 62-year-old man who presented to our hospital with cough, palpitation and short of breath after activity. On physical examination, we found cyanosis of lips and face, swollen jugular vein, bubble sounds a...
